The purpose of our business is to help women increase their income. The dresses are made in the rural suburbs of Anananarivo (the capital of Madagascar). Women work at home when there is no planting or harvesting work in the fields. Several women groups are responsible for different parts of the dress. One group of women smocks the dresses. The different parts of the dresses are mailed to a cooperative in Anananarivo where the quality control is done, the parts are put together and washed. We work with the manager of the cooperative. |
