The purpose of our business is to help women increase their income. The dresses are made in a small town about 100 miles (160 km) from Buenos Aires. The women who make the dresses work at home. Several women do different parts of the dress, i.e. one group of women cut the material; another group passes the threads over the material to prepare it for the smocking; another group smock the dress; one group cuts and sews the collars with the piping and finally there is a last group that puts all the parts together and sews the entire dress. There is one woman in the town that coordinates the women, does the quality control and sends the dresses to our partner in Buenos Aires. |
